Mike Leach Says ‘You Suck NFL Coaches’

Texas Tech head football coach Mike Leach is pissed off.  Every year, so-called draft experts start saying that quarterbacks produced by his program have no NFL future because they are merely products of the system.  The knock is that their numbers are inflated and they are unable to make the reads and throws necessary in the NFL.  Mike Leach humbly disagrees by saying, I’m paraphrasing here, ‘Fuck you NFL, your coaches are fat and stupid’. 

Leach seems to think the biggest problem for his QBs transitioning into the league is taking snaps from under center and dropping back.  Since the Red Raiders rarely line up in anything other than shotgun, he may have a point.  But, there may also be concerns that none of his QBs have great arm strength or mobility or any experience running an NFL offense that requires more than pre-snap reads of defenses.  I mean, probably not, but I’m just floating that possibility out there. 

I understand Leach may be concerned that without any of his quarterbacks attaining success at the next level, he may not be able to recruit as well at that position.  But I thought the point of his system was that he can plug in anyone with an arm or an uncanny ability to throw with their feet and have success.  Isn’t that why he signed an orangutan in his last recruiting class?  Oh, that was a cheerleader?  Damn it Lubbock. 

I guess I’m going to have to make an important decision soon.  If I continue to insult Mike Leach’s program, he’ll undoubtedly want to tell me how easy my job is and how he could teach an infant to do it better.  I don’t disagree, but I don’t need that information getting out.  If I do stop, however, Leach will have won, and I took an oath alongside the BCS that I would never let that happen.
