Avoiding Terrible Things
The Yankees announced today that they will be skipping Chien-Ming Wang’s next start. Crazy, I know. Why wouldn’t you want a guy who’s 0-3 in just 6 innings-pitched with a an era rocking out at 34.50 starting against your arch rivals? In the series opener at their stadium, no less.
In related news, other New Yorkers have announced they plan to skip stepping in front of on-coming buses, yelling racial slurs in Harlem, and playing on the subway tracks this weekend.
No doubt Boston’s ass holes faithful are bummed that the Yanks aren’t just going to concede a game by sacrificing Wang in Bean Town.
The best part of all this is that the Yankees won’t even consider putting him in the minors so he can lose games there until he gets his shit together. He’s out of minor league options.
“That’s as risky a proposition as you can think about because someone can claim him for $20,000,” Girardi said. “That’s not a chance you would want to take.”
I agree with Joe. Claiming Wang for $20,000 isn’t a chance I’d want to take if I were another club. I’m no general manager or anything, but claiming guys with era’s over 30 seems pretty risky.
