George Brett’s Got Quite A Mouth On Him
It seems former Kansas City Royal George Brett can bitch about more than pine tar these days. It’s good to see that he’s put his free time to good use. In the above video, you can watch him take a local KC reporter to task about the local media’s recent criticisms of Royals’ manager Trey Hillman. Wait, Trey Hillman, really? Did anybody out there know the name of the Royals’ manager before just now? I’m pretty sure even Trey Hillman would be a little surprised to read that.
Overall, the video isn’t that shocking. George is unhappy but he doesn’t fly too far off the handle. My interest in the video actually stems from his celebrity impersonations. He does a vague Albert Brooks starting at about the :37 second mark and slips in and out of it for the rest of the interview. Also, you can’t miss his impression of Jack Nicholson from ‘The Shining’ around the :50 second mark.
By the way, the Royals are in second place in the AL Central at 21-18. If Brett is this upset about the critics now, what’s going to happen later in the season if the Royals remember they’re the Royals and fall out of contention? Just pace yourself, George, that’s all I’m saying.
