Don’t Mess With My Fantasy

'As president, I demand the inclusion of centers in fantasy leagues
I think most people are sympathetic to the NFL Players Association, mostly because their members destroy their bodies for years, and then are ignored by the owner’s they used to play for. You know that scene in Wall-E where the title character goes by a bunch of similar robots that have all broken down? That was probably a metaphor for an NFL Hall of Fame ceremony. You didn’t see Wall-E? Well, shutup it was a good movie.
Anyway, the Players Association is doing its damndest to become more hated than the owners. In what I can only imagine is an effort to undue all the goodwill they’ve built up in the past, they’ve threatened to sue Yahoo Inc. unless they pay a licensing fee for the use of players’ photos and statistics in their fantasy game. Keep in mind that, for the most part, Yahoo offers free fantasy football and all of those stats are readily available on the Internet. How dare you create something that people can enjoy for free, that’s not in the spirit of NFL football.
Yahoo, naturally, has beaten the NFL players to the punch and has preemptively sued the union. I’m not sure how that works exactly. You think you are going to get sued for doing something that you claim is legal, so you sue the other party first. On what grounds could they possibly be filing suit? Is it still defamation of character if the defaming hasn’t happened yet? If so, I think I need to get to work suing Megan Fox (must be Fox Day). I feel a lawsuit from her is working its way down the pipe. (strokes bottle of chloroform)
I’ll go ahead and tell you that the Players Association is going to lose this one. No, I can’t tell the future, I’m just a simple man who knows how to read. A case just like this between CBS Interactive and the NFL players was decided in favor of CBS. Nice to see the players never learn. Its almost like they make their living banging their head against a wall.
