Remember Not Hating Tyler Hansbrough?

This celebration is not NBA-caliber

The NBA Draft is only a couple weeks away and most prospects are doing everything they can to catch the eye of a GM or scout and improve their stock.  There’s always a couple of players who can’t seem to help but freefall from the lottery to the late first/early second round.  I give you Tyler Hansbrough. 

The former UNC superstar enjoyed a Tim Tebow like lovefest in college.  Now that he’s out in the real world, he’s finding out that the plucky, max-effort guy with plenty of heart generally loses out to the guy who is naturally gifted.  In a recent radio interview, Hansbrough revealed that he thinks he could get taken with the 12th pick, which belongs to Charlotte.  He also takes a jab at all those evil bloggers who have somehow under-valued his pro-potential.  Damn their realism. 

I kind of laugh [at people doubting me].  These are probably just a bunch of guys who sit in their basements and probably just write out mock drafts and do this or that. 

If by “this or that” he means ‘relishing their hot dog’, by which I mean jerkin’ it, then yes, he’s got us dead to rights.  But who has a basement anymore? 

We’ve never done a mock draft, but it might be a good idea.  If I were to make one off the top of my head with no research, I’d stick Hansbrough in the mid to late 20s.  And I’d still laugh at the team that takes him.  Everything you needed to know about Psycho-T you could learn from the NCAA tournament.  Ty Lawson proved that he was the catalyst while Hansbrough proved he was fortunate to play with Lawson.  Against Blake Griffin, Hansbrough was more over-matched than Paris Hilton’s white blood cells. 

Tyler shouldlaugh at people doubting him.  After all, he’s going to get big money to play basketball, even if he washes out of the league in 3 years, which is unlikely.  I’m guessing he’ll find a way to stick for at least 6 seasons.  He may want to lay off the bloggers, though.  When his basketball career ends, he may need to join us.  It’s a pretty good gig.  The pay isn’t great, but apparently, if you write broad, speculatory articles, you can get on ESPN.  Speaking of which, has anyone mentioned how Tyler Hansbrough got the nickname Psycho-T?  I’m guessing steroids.

i cant stand tyler hansbrough and this just reminds me of how much i hate him, so thank you, great post
