Yankee Fans Make Great Fathers

The New York Yankees were in Florida this weekend, which means this fight took place, if not on Fathers’ Day, at best 36 hours before it.  At least that little girl knows what to get her Dad now… bandages and some fight training.  Doesn’t he know that when an enraged Marlins fan jumps at him from the railing, he should use that fan’s momentum to slam him into the beer vendor? 

Had that happened, maybe I could be OK with calling this the best fight video ever, but with the anti-climactic ending, a little girl senselessly screaming the whole time and the shaky cinematography, this video falls short.  I do tip my cap to the Marlins fan with the sunglasses though.  His brief cameo and commentary brought plenty to the table. 

So this video can’t compete for the best baseball fight video, but the fight itself doesn’t compete for the best baseball fight crown either.  That award for me goes to a fight I witnessed at a college baseball game about 4 years ago.  There’s no video of that because everyone’s fists were occupied with being stained by our enemies’ blood.  Either that fight or the current epic struggle between Prince Fielder and obesity.
