Raiders Staff Sucks at More Than Football
We’ve all heard by now that Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable broke the jaw of one of his assistant coaches. Details about exactly what happened, or if it even was Cable that did it, have been pretty sketchy because the victim, Randy Hanson, wasn’t cooperating with police.
Well all that changed yesterday. You see, Hanson was fine keeping things under wraps for the team. That is until his assailant demoted him to Film-Room Bitch, and owner Al Davis refused to let him remain on the staff. And I just can’t express how smart I think those decisions were.
Committing felony assault on an employee is one thing, but then pissing him off and firing him after he covered your ass with the cops. Now that’s true genius.
Sure, if Cable wanted to get away with breaking his assistant coach’s jaw he probably shouldn’t have acted that way, and if the Raiders wanted a clean public image they would have given Hanson any and everything he ever asked for. But that’s not the point.
The Raiders are going to suck this year. The only way anyone will give them any attention is if they act out and have some controversy come their way. It’s called street cred. It’ll look like 1995 all over again, when every hood rat in every inner city was sporting the silver and black.
Oh, and as for Cable, it looks like he’ll be facing some felony charges over this. So yeah, maybe it was pretty stupid after all.
