Wait Til You Hear About Jeremy Tyler

I cant get over it.

I can't get over it.

There were a few stories about Jeremy Tyler floating around yesterday so I thought I’d live up to the spirit of this site and address the story a day later.  Tyler, you probably don’t shouldn’t remember, is the young man who decided to go play basketball overseas rather than start and/or finish his senior year of high school.  Hey, guess how that’s going. If you guessed somewhere between ‘great’ and ‘amazing’, you should be put to death.  If you guessed somewhere between ‘terrible’ and ‘disastrous’ congratulations.  You’ve won the opportunity to not be put to death.

His coaches seem to hate Tyler because of his questionable work ethic and poor punctuality.  The other players seem to hate him because of his immaturity and disrespectful.  And Tyler seems to hate the whole situation where being named Jeremy Tyler doesn’t automatically make him a star.  I wonder if there’s some magical place far away where he used to be able to walk into a room and have everyone stare at him enviously.  Where the mere mention of his name made parties the place to be or a friend popular.  Some fabled place where he could have stayed for another year before graduating to a similar environment with older, higher class poon.  Well, if there was such a place, I’d surely be able to think of it.  Ce la vie, Jeremy Tyler.

That’s all entertaining enough, but it’s nothing compared to the real reason I wanted to talk to you about Tyler.  There are two of those glorious reasons.  One, Makhtar Ndiaye, the former UNC, uh, star is too strong a word, let’s just say he played at UNC awhile back.  He’s now one of the people representing Tyler and he was sent to Israel recently to try to help the young man adjust to life in a foreign country.  MAKHTAR NDIAYE!  Who would have thought we would have ever heard that name again?  While we are on the topic, I’d like to officially put out an APB for Ruben Boumtje Boumtje, Duany Duany and Boubacar Aw.

The second reason: Erin Wright aka Eric Wright’s daughter aka Eazy-E’s daughter.  She’s dating Jeremy Tyler and Tyler isn’t hesitant to say these two will be the power celebrity couple of the future.  Amazing.  This story has everything.  In the pantheon of athletes dating semi-famous people, this one has to be near the top.  I mean, Kobe dated Brandy, Lamar Odom is married to Kolossus Kardashian.  Let’s see, Tony Parker and Eva Longoria.  Oh, and of course the infuriating Marko Jaric and Adriana Lima.  I’d say Tyler and Lil Ms. Eazy, wait that’s none too complimentary, hold up pretty well.

Clearly, this kid has a ton of upside.  I mean, apparently he’s been sucking pretty hard on the court, but he has all the ingredients to be a star.  You know, except maybe the basketball skills.
