ESPN Loves Money, Jordans, Not Josh Elliot
ESPN Sportscenter anchor Josh Elliot took a morale stand during Top 10 plays after number 9 turned out to be the unveiling of the new Air Jordan sneakers. Ahh ESPN, is there anything you won’t sell out for? In their defense though, they just shelled out a bunch of money to steal the BCS from FOX, and after last night’s pitiful broadcast, I’m behind them even if they have to make their anchors look like NASCAR drivers with sponsors on their suits.
Also, it should be pointed out the the very next “Top Play” was a hockey player during warm-ups and later there was Greek league basketball and some Central American baseball. Whoever put those together has a very loose definition of “sports”. When 5 hockey highlights and an NCAA alley-oop is the best you can get, maybe there’s a better way to fill the airtime. Like a tampon commercial or 60 seconds of testing the emergency broadcast system.
I applaud Josh Elliot for openly criticizing the network that pays his salary on national TV, that takes some balls. Of course now his brass boys will be hosting the LPGA wrap-up show and reporting live from wherever the next coldest, dirtiest, poon-less event is taking place.

[...] Hopefully for him, he’ll get fired over this. (via Bootlegger Sports) [...]
