Adam Dunn
Season Tickets For The Blue Collar

Dodger tickets really are the way to go
With baseball season bearing down on us like a giant boulder on Indiana Jones, it seems like a good time to talk about season ticket prices. If you live within range of a major league park, you could get seats to all 81 home games for a fairly affordable price. That is, if you live in the right place and cheer for the right team. Yankees fans need not apply.
‘Duk at Yahoo Sports reports that you could pay $325 per game for season tickets in the new Yankee ballpark. Of course, those are field level, but it still inspired him to hunt up a number of teams who offer a better value. So here’s your pricing guide to this year;s MLB season ticket packages.
Toronto Blue Jays- $95- Not only will you be able to live in Canada and take advantage of free health care after each homestand leaves you dehydrated with a parasite in your belly from the concession stand hot dogs, but you pay just over 1 dollar per game. Toronto doesn’t play in the nicest stadium and the team isn’t all that good, but you can watch Roy Halladay deal every once in a while.
LA Dodgers- $336- These seats are in the nosebleeds, but if Manny ever signs, they become a great investment. His head will be clearly visible, even from your elevated view. The Dodgers could easily take a weak NL West again this year and good luck spending 3 hours in LA for less than this. Well, you could, but you’d be catching stray bullets or diseases instead of home runs and foul balls.
Cincinnati Reds- $591- I’ll gladly pay this much to watch Griffey and Adam Dunn knock the ball around. What? Gone huh? Both of them? Well, you could, uh, any attractive ball girls? Hmm, never mind, these are about $500 too expensive.
Colorado Rockies- $648- A great price for the lovely scenery around the ballpark to distract you between home runs. These tickets will pay for themselves with all the souvenier balls that should come flying your way. Of course, if you’re not an attractive 20-something woman, you’ll have to settle for the baseballs… ZING!
Kansas City Royals- $567- Haha, come on, I wouldn’t pay $567 to sit in the Royals dugout. Well, maybe the opposing team’s dugout. Ok, I’ll make you a deal, I’ll give you $100 to sit with the opposition when a team with a winning record comes calling, but I also get to throw a George Brett pine-tar level tantrum once a week. That’s my final offer Royals and if you want any fans at the game, I suggest you start bargaining.
MLB Network Is Off To A Bad Start

MLB Network will miss the 15 minutes before we start hating Sox fans again
I realize this is the third media-related post in a row, but I don’t choose who looks stupid each day. I just read someone else’s story and then get libelin’. The Major League Baseball Network has only been on the air for a few weeks, but they’re already screwing up like pros. You may remember way back when (literally minutes ago) we reported about some asshole’s problem with the network hiring commentators who didn’t grow up in a monastery. Or something like that, I’ll admit I didn’t “read” it, but Jim Bowden and I agree that skimming is way better. Now comes the report of the first live game telecast on MLBN. At least, most of a game.
The Giants and Indians exhibition game from Arizona was joined 15 minutes after the first pitch thanks to the network’s decision to run “The Greatest Hitting Seasons of All-Time” in its entirety. I’m the first one to back the network’s decision since exhibition games aren’t exactly riveting television and the Giants’ fans are probably better off remembering Willie Mays than realizing who is currently on the roster. I am a bit worried about the network’s ability to show regular season games, however.
If MLBN joins the first game of the season 15 minutes late, fans could miss quite a bit. They could miss Adam Dunn not leading the league in strike outs. They could miss Rocco Baldelli’s entire season before being put on the DL. They could miss the Royal’s playoff hopes disappearing. They could miss the part of the year where Manny Ramirez actually cares. Well, I guess Dodger fans are probably curious about why anyone would want to watch the first 15 minutes of a game, but the rest of those are valid.
Please MLBN, don’t screw up your broadcasts of the sport that you specialize in. You wouldn’t want Cubs’ fans to miss a second of their historic season would you? It’s going to be their 101st straight year without a championship. I’m sorry did you think I meant something else?
